Beneficent Parentalism
Theology:
The God you worship is only as big as the questions you are willing to ask.
Beneficent Parentalism presents a rather unwheldy dilemma for the theologies, particaularly the western theologies. Western theologies have struggled mightily with the dynamics of free-will.  Free-will possesses a magnetic intuitism and a rather gnarly set of constraints which would tax the most creative and spiritually sensitive among us.  The reality that free-will is a sow's ear pretty much determined the conclusion, however.  In its attempt at creating a silk purse, western theologies must now confront the pinnacle of their efforts; all they have to show for their efforts is a sow's ear and not a silk purse. [If I were writing this of my own free-will, I would stop right here and now!] Where there is no choice, there is no culpability. Where there is no culpability, there is no sin, no damnation, no eternal celestial punishment, no hell.  And, where there is no hell, there is no heaven. Shit! That pretty well demolishes Judeo-Christian-Moslem Theologies!  The gall!  Actually, it doesn't.  Using the concept of Shrek's onion, after peeling away the superficial, cultural, social and reilgious layers, the essence of these theologies is Uncontional Love and Beneficent Parentalism makes Unconditional Love the pinnacle of universal experience for each of us.  A whole lot of ritual and dogma gets flushed, but the Truth remains.

The far eastern theologies fare better.  Buddhism, with its eventual absorption into the sacred whole, seems to come the closest.  Hinduism, with its cyclic reincarnation, its re-absorbtion into the universal whole, is nicely compatible.
But, no theology hits the bull's eye. Free-will has warped mankind's ability to see 20/20.  This does not demonize free-will, by any means. Free-will was the best assimilation of known data.  Free-will was not deficit.  Knowledge was deficit, and the deficit nature of known knowledge was not the consequence of free-will. Remember: The accumulation of knowledge is the salvation of mankind. The accumulation of knowledge is a plateau studded reality.  Mankind lives on one plateau until that plateau is saturated. That saturation causes the discovery of yet another plateau.  On and on it goes. Beneficent Parentalism is not the end of mankind's journey.  It is best that this is repeated: Beneficent Parentalism is not the end of mankind's journey.  Beneficent Parentalism is just another platueau. As knowledge accumulates even further, another plateau will present itself.  Strange as it seems, some day it will be realized, Beneficent Parentalism warps mankind's ability to see 20/20 every bit as much as Free-Will did!

For now, however,
mankind must learn all that it needs to learn from Beneficent Parentalism. This is the task at hand.

As one delves into the deep waters of theological thought regarding Beneficent Parentalism, one must continually remind him, or herself, thought, thinking and emotions are physiological functions of the brain and consciousness is an after the fact physiological awareness.  This is the Truth we must must become reconciled to, because Truth will not be reconciled.  It's all a bit like Jacob's struggle with God. Jacob didn't struggle very long before he realized he was no match for God!  Duh!  But, knowing his reality would soon know defeat, Jacob clung to God and would not let go until he was blest, and thus, Jacob became Israel.  Exchange the word Truth for the word God, and you have the struggle before us today.  Knowing our reality will soon know defeat, we must cling to Truth until it blesses us, and rest assured, in time Truth always gives its blessing to anyone who will not let go.
