These behaviors indicate a diminished sense of personal significance and thus compromise a grown-up's ability to function as an authentic Adult. Consequently, relationships lack authenticity and assume surrealistic characteristics.  However, since these behaviours are universally pervasive, surrealism is accepted as real; inauthentic social interaction is accepted as authentic; a child's playground is accepted as an Adult world.
